Ayesha Siddiqa Ahmad
I met Ayesha for the first time when she arrived in Denmark, to get married. I thought she was very brave, a young woman who dared to undertake such a long journey alone.
She was born June 8, 1952 in Qadian. Her father was Chaudhry Muhmmad Abdullah, a Darwesh. In order to protect the holy grave of the Promised Messiah, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, which was situated in Qadian, 313 devoted Ahmadis bravely vowed their lives for this very difficult and dangerous task in 1947. This group of men are now called Darwesh. Her mother was Shakoor Bibi.
She grew up in Qadian. Those days were different in a way the younger generations can’t even think of. Her mother died when Ayesha was only twelve years. Thus she was responsible for the house and household, taking care of her father as well as six siblings. She helped her father with his office work which he used to bring home, and helped her neighbours in many ways and looked after their children from time to time.
She started her education in Qadian and later she went to the Araya High School for girls, which was situated far away from her home. After her high school education, she was part of a group of three girls who were the first ones to travel outside Qadian to get a degree. Thus she was studying English in Batala. Later she married Syed Mobushar Ahmad, moved to Denmark and lived in Copenhagen. She had four children, two sons and two daughters.
After her coming to Copenhagen, gradually I learned to know her and to like her. I got to know her as a warm and kind person and I started to regard her one of my dearest friends.
At time of her arrival I was National Sadr Lajnah Ima’Allah in Denmark. Some years later she took over and first she served the Ahmadiyya Jama’at as Sadr Lajnah Ima’Allah Copenhagen for five years and after that as National Sadr Lajnah Ima’Allah Denmark for further thirteen years.
I moved to Sweden, my home country. Though we did not meet or speak to each other very often, she always had a place in my heart and remained one of my dearest friends.
She passed away 5th of October 2022.
